Mentorship, creativity, and leadership — in one sisterhood.
Empowering young women ages 14–17 to overcome barriers and pursue education, careers, and lives of purpose.
I Am My Sister's Keeper is a mentorship and leadership development program founded by Tianna Boswell in 2016 and sponsored by Art Reach. We empower young women ages 14–17 from marginalized communities by providing the guidance, resources, and supportive relationships they need to overcome barriers to post-secondary education, career success, and personal growth.
Our program combines mentorship, arts-based learning, and leadership development to help participants build confidence, discover their strengths, and develop essential life skills. Through visual arts, spoken word, creative writing, digital media, and other artistic practices, participants are encouraged to express themselves, strengthen their identities, and use creativity as a tool for healing, self-discovery, and advocacy.
Participants take part in interactive workshops focused on confidence building, career exploration, post-secondary planning, financial literacy, mental wellness, and community leadership. They are mentored by professionals whose lived experiences reflect those of the young women they serve, helping participants see what's possible for their own futures and inspiring them to pursue their goals with confidence.
At I Am My Sister's Keeper, we believe every young woman deserves to be seen, heard, and supported. By fostering sisterhood, creativity, and meaningful mentorship, we equip participants with the confidence, resilience, and leadership skills to become empowered students, future professionals, and changemakers in their communities.
